Oh To Dream.....

I like to sleep! Who else is with me on this one? Raise your hand!

Yeah I see a couple of hands go up!

As far back as I can remember I have always loved to sleep, but I have always thought that it probably was not a good thing that I like it so much.

Until a couple of weeks ago.....

A good friend of mine told me, "You know your honoring God when you are obedient in resting your body."
Hmm...made me start to think.
Some people need more sleep than others. I for one need more sleep. If I get a good 9 hours or even 10, I am doing amazing!! And you see as much as I try to get this amount of rest, the thing is I struggle with insomnia. So there are some nights where even though I'm laying in bed tossing and turning, I really only sleep 3-4 hours. Those are the worst nights. But anyway I'm getting side tracked from the real reason I wanted to write.

I was praying last week in one of my insomnia nights and I was praying on a particular topic in my life. As I was praying, I asked the Lord to speak to me in a dream. I said, "Lord give me a dream!" I really really pleaded with the Lord to give me a dream and sure enough I got a dream!

The next morning I got out of bed and I told my roomate what my dream was. In my dream someone was knocking on my wall and I was knocking back and we were having this competition of knocking and immediately following the knocking the verse "ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, Knock and the door will be answered..." Those words flooded my head. My roomate said that she had heard a sermon preached on this verse and that the literal translation is Ask, Ask, Ask, Seek, Seek, Seek, Knock, Knock, Knock." It's a continual thing.
This really answered my prayer. I had been praying for what I was to do in a situation and God just answered and said I hear you, I'm going to answer, but I want you to keep knocking because as you are knocking, your seeking me and THAT is what I want.

Pretty cool huh!

So I have continued to pray for dreams the last couple of nights. And oh have I gotten some dreams! I can't really interpret them. Today I had some friends listen to the lastest one. They gave some really cool insight. I'm gonna pray about it and see what happens.

I think it's cool the ways in which God can speak to us. This one seems pretty crazy I guess, but He's never spoken to me in conventional ways. Did I mention He also speaks to me with songs that get stuck in my head? Yeah, that's a whole 'nother story!
